▶ VISUAL:
ANSWER; What does your character look like? Describe their build, any unusual features or their usual choice of clothing. Think about things that might not be apparent in icons.

▶ AURAL: ANSWER; What do they sound like?

▶ OLFACTORY: She smells like the beach. If there's a source of seawater around, you can bet that Maya will be swimming in it regularly, and the smell tends to stay with her, particularly since she tends not to dry off before getting dressed after swimming. She needs to protect her skin and keep it moisturised, so she also smells like a concoction of sunscreen and lotion.

If you wanted to romanticise it she really does smell nostalgically like a summer's day out on the coast, but since seafood is such a huge staple in her diet she can smell a little fishy. There is also the occasional whiff of chemicals about her, depending on if she's been doing anything sciencey for her own enjoyment of late.

▶ DEMEANOUR: ANSWER; What kind of impression would someone get after talking to this person briefly? Are they loud, confident and boisterous? Or are they shy, withdrawn and reluctant to talk?

▶ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Maya is a physical person with little sense of personal space or boundaries — physical affection such as hugs, hand holding or other friendly touching will go down perfectly well with her, even if she doesn't know the other character well. The same goes for kissing or anything more intimate: the chances are Maya will reciprocate with little thought.

▶ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Your character is welcome to attack Maya, but anything that may result in injuries more serious than minor cuts or bruises needs to be run by me first. She is liable not to fight back and is more likely to focus on defending and trying to get herself out of the situation; she will resort to violence only if she feels cornered or if another person is at risk.

▶ RELATIONSHIPS: Maya is very open to sexual relationships with...pretty much anyone. Gender is of no concern, but neither is age (so long as, in Maya's eyes, they're old enough to consent) or physical appearance, though it's uncommon for her to make the first move. Romantically exclusive relationships are another issue all together.

Maya does not experience romantic love, nor does she entirely understand the concept. It is possible that she may agree to becoming someone's "girlfriend" or partner without really understanding the extent of what that means, only for it to become apparent that she doesn't know what being in a romantic relationship entails — she has no concept of monogamy or sexual fidelity, for one...

▶ PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: Maya has no psychic or psionic ability. Characters with the ability to read minds are welcome to try to read Maya's, but while it's certainly possible to see what's going on inside her head they may have a tricky time navigating it. Maya's head is crammed with many rambling snippets of thought happening at the same time, which drown out any internal monologue...and any internal monologue that does exist is short and disconnected, never seeming to go anywhere or develop into fully formed thought. The inside of her head is a rambling mess, so good luck with that.

Characters who try to read Maya's mind may also be able to detect (or suffer interference from) messages coming from the more octopus-y parts of Maya's brain that dictate her behaviour besed on hardwired animalistic instinct. There are specific circumstances when said instincts and drives override Maya's human autonomy and her behaviour becomes more animalistic, something that is easily detectable via reading her mind.

▶MAGICAL INFORMATION: Maya has no magical ability, nor is there anything intrinsically magical about her which may be detectable by characters with an ability to sense magic. She's just your plain-Jane, everyday octopus person.

▶ MEDICAL INFORMATION: Maya is surprisingly robust when it comes to avoiding becoming ill; hardy like an octopus, she has a fierce immune system and fights off illness very quickly. Her injuries also heal at a slightly accelerated rate compared to the average person's. However, being a hybrid brings her certain disadvantages. In order to ensure she stays healthy Maya has to take a large number of vitamin supplements to make up for the nutrients that she is unable to gain from food. Fish and meat products are the only foodstuff she can eat in large amounts without becoming sick, and while she can tolerate (and enjoy) other food groups in smaller quantities she cannot consume enough to gain the complete nutrition her body needs.

The biggest threat to Maya's health and wellbeing is heat. Maya cannot sweat, meaning that there is no way for her body to regulate its temperature or expel salts. The fact that Maya produces only a tiny amount of body heat means that she is able to stave off overheating for longer than if she had the same body temperature as a typical human, but heat is incredibly dangerous for her and she is very susceptible to heat induced illness such as heat exhaustion (and is at risk of suffering heat stroke, which can be life threatening). She protects herself by carrying water with her always and staying in the shade on hot days, but extended periods of hot weather can be rough on her.

It is also within Maya's instinct to observe a nocturnal sleeping schedule. Years of routine mean she's perfectly accustomed to sleeping during the night like most people, but if she becomes ill, stressed, or otherwise distracted, she's prone to her nocturnal instincts taking over. She becomes very tired and likely to drop off to sleep at odd intervals during the day, while being unable to fall sleep at night. Since she cannot sleep properly during the night or the day, she becomes exhausted and her health, mood, and ability to function generally will take a hit as a result if she remains trapped in a cycle of not sleeping for an extended time.

▶ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS:
Maya is very easily upset or angered by comments that undermine the humanity or personhood of her fellow hybrids (or any other person who isn't your typical basic human). She can become tetchy and hostile should the subject be breached even innocuously within conversation, and seeing another person face discrimination for being anything other than basic-human will fling her into a rage of righteous anger.

▶ BACKTAGGING: Perfectly welcome, I backtag threads into infinity.

▶ THREADHOPPING:
With permission; please check with both myself and the other player first.

▶ FOURTHWALLING: I don't mind offhand mentions and jokes, just don't expect Maya to understand what your character is harking on about.

▶ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: There's nothing that I can't handle so long as the IC/OOC line is being respected, so throw whatever at me. If things do being straying into an uncomfortable territory I will let you know.
